Great trip to Siem Reap

Today we literally travelled from sunrise to sunset. Our adventure began at the crack of dawn as we departed Phnom Penh to head for Siem Reap, the Northwestern Cambodian city that is famous for its amazing temples.

During the seven hour drive we learned much about rural Cambodia. Many of the people in the rural areas are very poor compared to their city cousins. Poor is a relative term in a country where the minimum wage is about US$70 per month.

Once we arrived in Siem Reap we spent the afternoon exploring Angkor Wat, one of the most famous temples in the region. Our guide was excellent and we had a very enjoyable day.
