You can learn a lot about a place by walking along the ocean first thing in the morning. Santo Domingo is no different. The oceanfront is alive with activity even on a Sunday morning. The brown pelicans are very busy fishing, locals are checking their emails as they head to their favorite fishing site, while some people are catching up on the morning news.
You also can learn about the impact we are having on the ocean. Look to the right and you see a beautiful beach, look to the left and you see the modern form of driftwood – washed up plastic bottles, hundreds or even thousands of them as far as you can see. Makes you think!
