We have spent the last two nights in Xi’an with the main goal of visiting the the Terra-cotta Warriors. The magnificent collection of 8000 life size warriors and their horses were only discovered in 1974. In fact we briefly met one of the farmers who discovered the site. No words can possibly describe the magnitude of the collection. They are arrange in three “pits” – the first pit is the main army, the second is headquarters and the third the chariots. It was a cold and very polluted day in Xi’an but certainly worth the inhospitable conditions.
After the amazing day we enjoyed dinner and a fascinating dinner show about the Tang Dynasty.
